I just opened up a new package of oats, and this time I bought the one-minute oats. They definitely blend a little more smoothly, and kind of disappear in the shake. I know I get the same benefit, and they may even absorb into my body more quickly and with less waste. That’s just a guess though. I’d recommend the quick oats for blending in to a shake.
I’ve been feeling great without coffee, by the way. I drink a shot of my Ionix juice in the morning and I don’t feel like having a coffee. Then my shake, and I’m ready for the day.

I’ve had two shakes today – one for breakfast, and one for lunch. They really tide me over well, for being just a quick to prepare blender shake. I’m am still surprised when I am full after having one, and when I don’t get hungry in between meals. Today I had a chocolate shake for breakfast, again with a serving of oatmeal in it. You know, I just add 1/2 cup of raw oats to the shake and blend it all together, and I’m getting the benefits of the oatmeal for my cholesterol and heart health, but it also fills me up more I’ll bet.
For lunch I had a vanilla shake, with the oatmeal again, and a tablespoon or more of natural peanut butter. That’s the flavor I like so much lately, is the vanilla peanut butter shake.
I know that having these shakes to replace two meals a day is preventing me from easting some of the saturated fats, animal fats, and other foods that I am trying to avoid. I just love being able to eat a filling meal, super-quick, and have it be that tasty. So I’m ok with eating more than one regular meal a day, but I’m going to have two shakes whenever possible, and the other parts of the cleanse system, and get enough calories to hold me over, because I know I burn quite a lot exercising and being fit. I’m not doing this to lose weight, but to be healthier and gain more energy, and perhaps to sleep less.
It feels good to be putting healthy stuff into my body.

How could it be that I can fast for a whole day and not be hungry? Well, I have to attribute it to the cleansing juice, and the little Isasnack wafers I ate five times on Monday. It was my second deep cleanse day, where I drink the cleansing juice, and eat nothing for the day, allowing my body to clean itself out to the bottom, and start to expel toxins and unneeded fat cells. I felt pretty great all day, full of energy, and wasn’t hungry even as I went to bed. Read the rest of this entry

I guess it’s not that weird, but it definitely had funny measurements to take. It’s supposed to be pretty accurate, though. Here’s a link to the test. At 13.2% body fat, I think I’m doing pretty well. The site says you should test changes in body fat this way with more than a month in between tests so that any change is more likely to be due to diet and exercise than to human error in measurement. It sounds like the body fat measurement Read the rest of this entry

Info culled from the Mayo Clinic website gives me a top 5 foods to eat to help lower my cholesterol.
- Oatmeal. I’ve been putting a serving of oatmeal in my shakes almost every time I make one. the main benefit for me is to make them more filling and last longer as a meal replacement. Not that I really needed it though, those shakes are pretty filling. But I did it out of fear that I would be hungry. It turns out that eating it gives me the soluble fiber my body needs to block cholesterol formation and reduce LDL and total cholesterol. 5 to 10 grams a day can do that, and my oatmeal gives me 4-6 grams.
Fish and Omega-3 Fatty Acids. I should eat more fish, I’m sure. Doctors recommend two to three servings of fish a week. I like fish. I’ll try to buy more at the grocery store, and replace some other meats that I will be avoiding. I can also get small amounts of omega-3 from flax seed and canola oil. Side benefit: omega-3′s can lower blood pressure also. Read the rest of this entry

“Time to put down that cheeseburger.”
-My Doctor
Well, maybe it’s not that bad. I received my cholesterol numbers back yesterday, and it’s not good. They are too high. I do have some things going for me though, I’m only 39, I’m athletic and exercise every day, I’m fit and strong. So I have a high “Good Cholesterol” (HDL) number (66), and it’s supposed to be more than 25% of the total. A good HDL number is over 40. I’m actually just below 25%, however, because my total is 268. My total number is high, being that a total cholesterol under 200 would be way better. My “Bad Cholesterol” (LDL) is 179. It should be under 130, or ideally under 100. Read the rest of this entry

Today I ate a shake for breakfast, and another one for lunch. They were actually delicious and I wasn’t hungry in between. In the morning I had a chocolate one, with a half cup of oats in it. I had about 4 ice cubes and filled to around 12 ounces of water, added the shake powder and oats, and blended it all up. Yummy!
Around noon I had another one, this time vanilla, and added a little oats, and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter. That one I did the same with ice and water, but it mixes a little thinner, I think, and it was creamy and delicious. I really liked that one.
So, the Isalean Shakes really do replace a meal, and they’re yummy too! And for each meal, I am only spending $2.68 – wow that’s saving me money too. Pretty good.
Here’s what they have to say about them over at the Isagenix website:

This perfectly balanced shake also contains Ionic Alfalfa™, our proprietary blend of 70 super-charged minerals, trace minerals and alfalfa juice. Active enzymes in each serving helps maximize the absorption of key nutrients.

While yesterday I felt tired for some of the day, today I’ve woken up with energy again, and I feel great. Yesterday I had two shakes, and two regular meals also. I think that what I eat affects how I feel the next day, more than it affects how I feel on the same day. Today I’m eating two shakes and a regular meal, plus my Ionix Supreme juice, and the Natural Accelerator and IsaFlush Supplements. Read the rest of this entry

I think it might have been because I ate regular food yesterday, in breaking my fast on cleanse day. So today, the following day, I feel sluggish and tired. That’s what it seems like. Well, it was a shake day today, and I ate two regular meals as well as two shakes, went snowboarding, and went to bed early. Good night, I’ll write more tomorrow.

No coffee today, but a decaf latte this afternoon. I usually like to make an afternoon coffee if I’m home. But I bought some decaf beans and made one with these this afternoon, and I have felt great. I wasn’t tired or needing a pick-me-up this afternoon, and I just liked the taste and have the habit of having a coffee drink at that time of the day. I’m very energized and awake this afternoon.
I did drink a shot of the Ionix juice when I got home from town today, and I’ve taken my two Natural Accelerators for the day. Perhaps yesterday’s cleanse or the repeated dosages of great nutrition and minerals have something to do with it. It’s different for me not to have a tired spell in the afternoon. Hmmm…
